A healthy diet includes eating an apple every day. The fruit has been part of your child’s diet since they were a child. While they were weaning, you gave them apple puree.
Let’s learn how to draw an apple correctly in this tutorial. We won’t draw shadows in this tutorial since it’s for beginners.
Our goal was to make this drawing lesson easy enough for even the novice artist to follow. We learned how to draw straight lines in the lesson on how to draw an arrow. Today’s lesson will teach you how to draw perfect circles.
Then let’s get started with this beginner’s apple drawing lesson!
How To Draw An Apple
Method-1:
Step-1: Sketch a circle
With a pencil and circular lid, draw a circle. You can draw your apple no matter how large or small it is to suit your tastes. If you want, you can draw the circle freehand.
Step-2: Sketch a wave on the top of half of the circle
In the center of the circle, you can see a wave-like pattern. A stalk will draw here later in the process. Make the waves overlap on either side of the circle. This should create the illusion of a hairline.
Step-3: Sketch a wave in the circle’s bottom
Draw a circle with a raised center at the bottom. Make sure again that the wave ends overlap the circle sides. A stamen is located at the bottom of the curve. Fruit appears in place of a person wearing glasses in the drawing.
Step-4: Sketch a small curve below the top wave pattern
In the figure, draw a curved line just below the gentle trough, just underneath the top wave pattern.
Step-5: Draw the stem and leaf
Drawing two slightly curved lines from its center, take the small curve you just drew. Connect the ends. You’ve got a stem! A long, sloping triangle should be the shape.
Create a leaf at the left base of the stalk. An easy way to represent a leaf is to draw a blade around a stalk’s base.
Step-6: Sketch the Veins
From the centerline of the leaf, draw curved lines slightly. Veins are these lines.
Step-7: Finishing touches
Erasing the unwanted lines, outline the apple with a black sketch pen.
Step-8: Color It Red!
The apple should be colored in vibrant red. Leaves should be green, and stalks should be brown.
Method-2:
Step-1:
Create a circle.
Step-2:
The stem and curve should be added.
Step-3:
Create a leaf for the attachment.
Step-4:
The leaf should be filled out with details.
Step-5:
Another circle should be drawn.
Step-6:
Create a peeling line, stem, and seed.
Step-7:
Create an apple slice.
Step-8:
Create a background ground line.
Step-9:
Mark and color the trace.
Method-3:
Step-1: Draw basic apple shapes
Begin by sketching the apple’s overall shape. It is just a simple circle for this example.
Step-2: Draw an apple
The appleās stem and small curves of its shape can be added as details based on the circle.
Step-3: Details of the apple shape
Adding smaller details to the line drawing will help refine it even further. After the line drawing is complete, you can begin shading.
In this image, the light source can be seen just behind the apple on the upper left. The darker area will therefore be located to its right.
Adding a drop shadow to the apple can give the impression that it is sitting down.
The shadow will be cast directly opposite the light source on the left-hand side.
As this particular drop shadow moves away from the object, it will become darker towards it.
Step-4: Shading an apple
Your shading will be more effective if you create gradients between dark and light areas. As you can see in the example, try applying your strokes, so they flow with the form of the apple.
However, some of the lighter spots areas may be due to the color of the apple and not the lighting if the apple has color variations.
Shaded and illuminated areas of the apple must now be balanced against the darker/lighter parts. A green and red apple, for example, might still appear more delicate in the shade than under the light. Be aware of these things when shading.
Method-4:
Step-1:
With a graphite pencil, I draw a rounded shape. I made the shape taper toward the bottom since it doesn’t need to be perfectly symmetrical.
Step-2:
Adding a stem and a hollow to this shape slightly refines it.
Step-3:
The apple’s contours are repeated in ink hatches. You can make them out with an ink liner.
The contour gets its highlight from the reflected light. Otherwise, the overall shape would appear flat.
Step-4:
The bottom part of the fruit is further outlined by hatching with the liner.
Step-5:
By using the 0.05 liner, I extend the existing lines with extra hatching.
Step-6:
The 0.05 ink liner is used for some vertical hatching. The contours of the objects should be followed when drawing the lines.
The top of the apple also has two spots of reflection.
Step-7:
Applying long hatches to the apple’s sides, I created a three-dimensional look with a 0.05 liner.
Our drawing will be in no time more contrasted since the lines are thicker.
Step-8:
I worked on the apple’s shadows while scribbling the 0.1 liners, adding groups of rounded hatches along the side.
Step-9:
Ink liners 0.05 are used to make thin, rounded hatches inside the apple’s lower region.
Step-10:
I used the 0.05 ink liner to tone down the highlights.
Step-11:
A drop shadow is created under the apple by using the 0.1-liner.
Step-12:
With the 0.3 liners, I added randomly placed dots to give the apple a more exciting texture.
Conclusion
Apple shapes are relatively easy to draw, but shading an apple with various colors can be challenging. Consider drawing a solid-colored apple with a fairly smooth shape if you are somewhat new to drawing and find the shading part too tricky.
You can easily create beautifully cute ones by learning how to draw an apple clipart using just basic shapes and plain colors. With solid shapes, you can easily create beautiful reflections and shadows.
